What Makes Game of Thrones Season 8 a Lame Show?

1.  Bad Consideration on Plot and Mystery Revelation

it is understandable that a very long and beloved series is exhausted for everybody behind, but it doesn’t suppose to be reasons to produce only 6 episodes, considering there are too much mystery to reveal. The creators have supplied fans’ mind many secrets, motivation, and rich characters’ personality, it would be unsatisfied revealing all of it, one by one, within only 2 episodes as opening feeds before the penultimate episode. 7 seasons is not equals with 2 episodes. Besides, there are still remaining characters left behind without any hints that they will appear back again, such as Elaria Martel, Daario Nahaaris, and Illyrio Mopatis. All of these three were playing important role to bring the three focused characters to the present condition. Hiding or forgetting them show the lack of writing.

2.  Postponing for Nothing but Unsatisfactory
.
In 2017, the fans were surprised and left miserable after hearing that the show will not be presented that year due to production difficulties. And the D&D turned off the craziness by saying they need much time for special effects regarding many mythical creatures (dragon, giants, wolf, raven, and zombies), leaving the fans became patient waiting for the best cinematic art. Eventually the truth serves the opposite, except for the dragon. But where are all the remaining wolves? Ghost appeared since the first episode literally as ghost, where the human character did not sense its appearance properly, Ghost’s physical appearance almost look like background effect, and its interaction to any other characters were boring. The giant was only one, while there are three of them.

3.The Death Scene are Boring to Maximum.

Many of fans fell in love to this show after finding entertainment to its death scenes which savage, gory, and unusually surprising. They loved its randomness and cruelty, representing the power in real life. In fact, most death scene has turned to be Shakespearean, romantic but killing the show’s appeal at the same time. Especially to the death of Lannister twin. Many comments mock it that with many weapon and possible choices to kill them, the writers chose old bricks. Meanwhile, the remaining characters are all powerful and having each personal style to kill them, especially the beloved Westeros’ assassin, Arya Stark.

4Poor Fighting Choreography

Nothing to expect in this final season but epic battles, grouping or single one. In the War of Winterfell, where the watchers could not barely see the entire frame, they presented great warriors, but the level of fighting skill was under Game of Thrones’ standard, still not sure to call them epic. The beloved Arya Stark only spend seconds sweeping the wights using dragon-glassed spear with poor choreography. The fans need more moves. Also Gendry Baratheon, the fans expected him fighting brutally with that majestic hammer during the battle.

The Writers Seem has Forgot the Characters’ Persona

We can only see stupidity, confuse, and fear in most of the characters. Ser Davos as the one who was always successfully convinced everyone, is barely a mute this season. Tyrion Lannister has lost his sharp mind, analyzing Cersei’s war strategy. He forgot to anticipate the scorpions, resulting another dragon death and stupid ambush that cost the Dragon Queen’s madness. He is not a good advocate this time, only a maudlin persuader. And the honorable Jon Snow has turned to be the mindless lover boy, he has nothing to say to his queen, and nothing to say to the army. He is more like a love slave this time. Otherwise, the character twist upon Jaime Lannister, from an annoying unreliable knight to be Oathkeeper at first was warm, then suddenly he turned to be the previous bastard by leaving Brienne of Tarth and rode back for Cersei after all of the hatred and disappointment that changed him.
The most unsatisfied scene is the death of Night’s King. The story started with terror by his army, terror of the death that may cost human extinct, just like in the Lord of the Rings. This premise was the main background story to keep the story on track, but when it is time to face this terror in eyes wide open, it becomes stupid. The Night King’s generals were useless and The Night King himself were not that terrifying and powerful as the show feed us since 2011.

And the most stupid writing goes to Arya Stark. This well-trained assassin was very convincing with many vatal kills she committed, including act to answer the Azor Ahai. Comparing Arya Stark to the other assassins, for example Ser Bronn, Electra, Black Widow, or Laura from X-men universe, this assasin is the least skilled. She looks more like a spoiled female with dagger and sword who likes to boast about killing and death. In “The Bell”, Arya Stark lowered the assassin skill standards by joining The Hound, asking nicely to enter King’s Landing and walking into it by the gate. D&D has explained that they need Arya Stark to represent the fear of Mad Queen’s fury by following her running around the city helpless. With all skills she has earned, she is an helpless running assassin. That time, Arya Stark only looked like a common poor, weak, and fearful Westerosi.

Not to mention several production errors, like that coffee cup, Daenerys’ wig, and line “Gendry Rivers” that made the fans shaking heads disappointingly, overall before the very final episode airs, this closing season is rushing lame and it is a bad way to end such a successful screen show.
