Daenerys has Too Many Reasons to Get Mad

Game of Thrones Season 8 has losing rate stars since episode 3 “The War of Winterfell” due to its disappointing vibe for some fans. The lack of epic battle, gory elements, and mind-trick that used to be glamorized by them are now considered smoothed. But out of those, most are talking about Daenarys Targaryen’s personality twist. They say the writers had killed the character from the first episode.

Many opinionated that there is missing scene about the characters shift or it was too limited. Comparing to the Mad King who yelled “burn them all” insanely in King’s Landing as the background story of this show, Daenerys did not show that kind of crazy action. Perhaps, this is the impact of the well done writing for the other characters, so the fans were not able to notice Daenerys’ slow character twist.

Let us look back to the very beginning of the show. Daenerys first appearance was out of normality, she walked into a very hot tub without any doubt and walked out clear skin. Soon, she let her brother crowned to death by Khal Drogo. Then, the season 1 was closed by Daenerys burnt a witch, Khal’s body, to walk out nakedly with three new born baby dragons.

In Season 2, Daenerys burnt the Dothraki’s master. Next, she burnt another black magic practitioner in the House of the Undying. Altogether with Ser Jorah, Tyrion, and Daario, she conquered Mereen, she impaled slavers, burnt them, and fed them to her three full-grown dragons. The last great act before she fled away from Essos, Daenerys burn temple of Vaes Dothrak to rule the entire Khalasaar.

Overall, It was always be fire and blood for Daenerys Targaryen. Tyrion knows this well, that is why he said to Varys “It is our duty to worry about her state of mind” in episode “the Bell”, especially after Olenna Tyrell told her “...be a dragon” before they attacked Westerland. Her first plan right after stepped on Dragonstone coast was to attack King’s Landing by fire. She really intended to do it, but she listened to Tyrion’s advice so she only burnt Samwell’s brother and father to show her power. All this time, her sanity was still under control. Thanks for Tyrion and Varys.

Those mentioned above are the planting information to create the Mad Queen. The writing wants to say that most Unburnt Targaryen are born to be sane as dragon and if it was not controlled well, a Targaryen must demand massive murder by dragon. Always remember their motto: “Fire and Blood”.

The one who responsible to that madness is Tyrion. He always offered humanist plans, showing kindness, persuation, and negotiation before attacking enemies. Instead of gaining success, Tyrion made Daenerys lost allies, army, children, and best friends. For the last 2 seasons, Daenerys had lost two dragons, half of her large army, most of her allies, also Ser Jorah and Missandei as her most trustful confidantes. Her top reason is losing claim to the Iron Throne for Jon Snow and the Stark’s purposes. Right now, she has completely lost everything she earned one by one as the last unburnt Targaryen. She has to many reasons to get mad and the story has done many ways to warn the fans.
